People from all over the world write about the town of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Only a handful of native Adams Countians write about their hometown.   Indeed, the battlefield at Gettysburg seems to be "owned" by all Americans as well as devoted individuals from around the world. And many historians have created memorable and historically accurate books.  Many are classics and have stood the test of time.  Others come and go, just as the Confederate Army did many years ago.

If you plan to visit Gettysburg, these books will certainly enhance your experience by providing prior knowledge of the people, places, and events of 1863.   Or, request a powerpoint presentation by the author.
